My Parents’ day
In Korea, I do many things to make my parents happy on Parents’ day, which falls on the 8th of May. Around one week before, I usually prepare some gifts for my parents. I ask to see if my father and my mother want anything special. If so, I go to the department store or the market to get those products, but if not, I just go to look around. Usually I buy clothes for my father and some cosmetics for my mother. The day before, I usually write to them to express my gratitude for their giving birth to me, supporting me, protecting me and so on. While I am writing, I sometimes shed tears because I become excessively emotional. After making sure gifts and letters, I set the alarm clock and go to sleep. Next day, I get up early to boil rice and make Japche, which is my mother’s favorite food. The moment my parents looks moved by breakfast, I have my parents wear carnations on their breasts, which is very common on the morning of the Parents’ day. After having breakfast together, each member goes to study or work. Finally, all members get together for dinner. We usually go out for special food. During the dinner time, I always find out I am a very happy person to have a great family.
